Dorm Life

Acclimating to dorm life as a freshman in college is difficult. I'm finding acclimating to it again after 9 years (yes, it really has been nine years), is really not all that easy either. I'm not used to a plastic mattress, wired internet, and sharing a bathroom with people I barely know. Anyway, here are a few pictures of where I'm staying until Saturday.

Skidmore College: Poetry Bootcamp

This is going to be short and sweet because until the weekend, my words have to be spent writing poetry. I'm in Saratoga Springs, NY at Skidmore College for 2 weeks in the Writers' Institute. While I envisioned this as "poetry camp," it has turned out to be what I will call "poetry bootcamp." The setting is gorgeous, but we are staying in dorms (pictures to follow), eating in a dining hall, and attending marathon workshops, lectures, and readings.

So, here is a sneak peek of Skidmore. The facilities, besides the dorms, are very nice. You'll see a picture below of the path leading to the Case Center (a University Union of sorts), one of the paths that leads to the main auditorium, and the dining hall.
